Cybertron Dark Scorponok

First review! Thought it would be fitting to make it the TF that rekindled my, back then, slumbering Transformers fandom:
Cybertron Dark Scorponok

Size-wise he's pretty much Leader-class, and quite bulky. His size makes for enough space for detailing, and luckily Hasbro wasn't cheap on the details. Panel-lining, faux-hydraulics and sculpted vents and weaponry are all over him, befitting his alt-modes of a Cybertronian jet and, why yes, a mechanical scorpion. He has the Cyber Planet-key-gimmick, locking it into his tail makes two non-firing blasters snap into place, but it seems a bit superfluous to me.

Of course his most notable feature are his insanely large pincers. These double as hands in robot mode and as some kind of a wings/thrusters combination in jet mode. Opening the pincers reveal two firing missile-launchers, functional in all three modes.

His robot mode gives off the impression of a musclebound scumbag. An undead musclebound scumbag with two gigantic claws hiding missile launchers and a tail sporting blasters, that is.

His jet mode is pretty nifty. His tail stretches all the way, becoming the cockpit. His feet fold to the side, becoming thrusters and stabilizers. Although having his pincers double as wings or thrusters seems a bit farfetched, the jet as a whole looks impressive all the same.

Lastly, but not leastly (?), there's his mechanical scorpion mode. The entire figure is created from this mode, so nothing feels out of place. Out of place like pincers on a jet, or a tail on a humanoid, I mean. His treads have little wheels underneath, so they don't actually function. A bit of a shame, but it looks awesome nonetheless. His pincers look the best in this mode, his moving mandibles actually attract attention and revealing his missile launchers and inserting the Cyber Planet-key into his tail turn him from a mechanical monster into a gigantic weapons-installation... with a cockpit as well!

Verdict: Cool figure, nice and bulky with lots of detail. The Cyber Planet-key business doesn't really add much, and the sound-function gets annoying after a while, but those are the only (very minor) setbacks.

note to self: when getting a new figure next time pay attention to the instructions. I've had this figure for years, and I found out about his heelsupporters while writing this ^^'
